Madison Real Estate

With its small town charm and big city options, Madison, Alabama is bursting with a vibrant exuberance unparalleled for a community of its size. When it was first settled in early 1800s, Madison grew slowly until the railroad connected the town to cities in the east. Despite hard times through the Civil War period, the town thrived and more people moved to North Alabama. This neighboring city of Huntsville is now home to more than 35,000 residents who enjoy an improved quality of life.

Madison offers the small town feel with its own school district and more, but provides all the conveniences of neighboring Huntsville. It is its own community, but it also serves as a suburb for residents commuting to Huntsville. Its premier location close to Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville International Airport and Cummings Research Park make Madison a popular choice for many professionals working at these facilities. Many Madison residents are connected by work or family to Redstone Arsenal. Built in 1941 to manufacture ammunition for World War II, this 37,910-acre facility is home to the U.S. Army’s rocket and missile program, the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), the Space and Missile Defense Command, various executive offices and support services. More than 150,000 soldiers and 27,000 civilians are served by Redstone Arsenal.
